About:

I’ve been passionate about sports and exercise since the age of about 15 when I decided I needed to get fit for [at the time] fairly experimental neurosurgery.  I found a great deal of benefit in exercise in spite of it being counter intuitive with having Dystonia.  Post neurosurgery it was clearly even more vital to my long term health.   Additionally, being a teenager and my school trying to stop me participating with my friends in P.E., made me even more determined to play!

I then followed this passion into academia to understand why it was so beneficial and how to enhance the benefits.  I now have a Masters degree an extensive vocational qualification list.

I have had a lot of fun in my pursuit of sport and fitness but some lows too.  My mission now is to minimise the lows the next generation will face and to train as many people as I can before age catches up with me, in order to spread the joys and benefits of sport to as many applicable people as I can. That’s my drive.

I’m Gina, I’m disabled and I want to play too!

About:

Having found myself with too much time on my hands and after getting into trouble with school, I became obsessed with martial arts films & ended up taking up Muay Thai at the age of 15.

Alongside Muay Thai I was also taught a range of self dense techniques from a range of arts including wrestling & Kali.  I then took up MMA & BJJ under Salvatore Pace in Dec 2007.  I have since competed in 4 semi-pro & 13 pro MMA fights.  From white belt through to my current rank of brown belt I've competed at both gi & no gi BJJ.  Whilst I've had mixed success in my competitive career I have learnt & experienced a great deal.

I have been teaching Muay Thai, BJJ and MMA at Gracie Barra Bath for the last few years.

Ever keen to learn more I have been studying wrestling under Saeed Esmaeli for several years and am training to be an assistant coach.

Martial arts aside I'm a qualified Personal Trainer, a field I'm always seeking to further my knowledge in.

What he teaches: BJJ, MMA, Wrestling, Muay Thai, fitness and Personal Training.
