AMA Policies

At Adaptive Martial Arts (AMA) we regularly review our policies annually to ensure they are up to date and fit for purpose. You can read some of our policies below.

Safe Guarding - Adaptive Martial Arts CIC acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice. Our policies can be found on the following links Child Protection Policy and Vulnerable Adults Policy.

DBS - All coaches and volunteers will be supervised by senior member of AMA who has had their DBS checked, these are renewed every 2 years and a copy is kept on file. All coaches are DBS checked, volunteers who are awaiting checks will not be allowed to supervise anyone without another DBS checked AMA member present under any normal circumstances.

First Aid - All coaches and volunteers will be supervised by senior member of AMA who has Appointed Persons first training, AMA has an extensive first aid kit present with them when the first aid responsibility is with AMA.   Statutory policy now requires the facility owner to hold responsibility to provide a first aider unless expressly agreed otherwise.  We endeavour to always have the first aid kit in all of our coaching sessions. Their First Aid qualifications are renewed every 3 years, in line with statutory requirements.

Qualifications - All coaches and volunteers will be supervised by senior member of AMA who has must hold relevant fitness qualifications to coach, this is to ensure they know not just Martial Arts but the contraindications of conditions, medications and movements. This ensures that we fully understand your condition, how to adapt our exercise and to enable you to get the most out of our classes.

Fee Waiver - Adaptive Martial Arts (AMA) CIC is committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy the benefits that Martial Arts can bring no matter your ability or disability,

We also believe that people should not be excluded due to their economic circumstances, as all people should have the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of martial arts.

With this in mind we may be able to offer reduced fees to those facing financial hardship whether existing or new customers.
