The Bristol Post have teamed up with Airbus again to put together some community prizes. The £10,000 prize will be shared between the top 10 groups who collect the most tokens and will be allocated in the following denominations; 1st prize (most tokens) £3,500, 2nd prize £2,000, 3rd prize £1,000, 7 runners up receive £500 each.

KEY DATES

From Friday, February 16 to Monday, March 19, tokens will be published in the Bristol Post. The more tokens your group and the local community collect, the more chance you have of winning a share of the awards money. **100 bonus tokens will be published on 22 February, 2, 7, 12 and 16 March, make sure you don’t miss these!!**

The deadline for all tokens to be sent in by is midday Wednesday, March 21.

In Other News….

We have started our Bath class thanks to our partners at BANES council! Having BANES support is invaluable to us, we’re very lucky! These classes are on Sundays 12.30 - 1.30 at Bath Leisure, Centre Bath Pavilion, North Parade Road, Bath, BA2 4EU.

We have been working all over the place lately! We have been very lucky to be invited into New Fosseway School where we had a whole 2 hours teaching many students. We look forward to working with there in the after school clubs.

Gina CEO has been busy with speaking at Ashton Gate speaking on a panel about the benefits of sport for European City of Sport Conference, run by Bristol City Council and WESPORT.

Gina has been elected Chair of the Bristol Council ‘Mayors working group for Participation’, she will be involved in getting more people in Bristol active, including the disabled.

In another effort to aid the disabled community she has also been added to the Board of the UKBJJA (UK Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association), who are aiming for National Governing Body Status as the Disability Officer. This role includes setting up a training scheme with the UKBJJA and AMA to train coaches on how to safely incorporate disabled people into thier gyms/dojos.

Recently Chris and Gina sat on a panel for Access Sport to discuss disabled sport in Bristol and attracting volunteers. Watch out for more information on the intiatives on this that are coming from Access Sport. With AMA being very busy and also looking to expand, if you have a hour free a week to volunteer to do some fundraising applications or other work for us, please get in touch!

We are also busy working with a new coach for the AMA team, we are excited to be bringing in this new coach who adds further strengths to the coaching team of Adaptive Martial Arts. Further details about this coach will be announced shortly.

In the summer we are planning a very exciting seminar, this is guaranteed to be an exceptional seminar with a great athlete. We will update you as soon as we can.
